How to pick a world travel adapter from a UK bag

A UK three-pin brick is a home tool. The second you land somewhere that is not Britain, it is a paperweight unless you packed the right adapter. Most "travel adapters" are a pouch of dead sockets: no USB-C, no wattage worth a laptop, and a fuse that looks like a souvenir. The job is one brick that speaks UK, EU, AU, and US pins and still feeds a notebook.

What actually matters in a world charger

Wattage first. A phone cube in a fancy shell is still a phone cube. Seventy watts is the useful line for a modern USB-C laptop plus a phone on the same brick. Look for USB-C Power Delivery on the adapter itself so you are not stacking a second GaN in the sleeve. Grounded pins, a real fuse on the UK face, and a label that says 100–240V. If the listing hides watts behind "fast charge", leave it.
